Over the last 3 million years the story of our specie had been written. This journey starts from humble beginning in Africa till the relatively recent global expansions. The prehistoric research examines this story of behavioral, biological and social evolution. Over the 30 years many fundamental research perceptions has been altered and re-evaluated. The „MONREPOS Archaeological Research Centre and Museum for Human Behavioural Evolution“, part of the „Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum“ Mainz (RGZM) and the „Arbeitsbereich für Vor- und Frühgeschichtliche Archäologie“ oft the „Institut für Altertumswissenschaften“ of JGU, has been in the forefront of these dynamic revolutions, conducting research stretching over 2 million years, three continents and more than 10 countries.
